Neil D. Santiago

Neil is the youngest son of Leandro and Balbinita Santiago. His Family is originally from the Philippines, but He and his two older brothers were born here in the United States. His Father served 23 years in the United States Navy, during which time he and his family were stationed in Virginia, Maryland, Guam, Key West Florida and Hawaii. Neil was born in 1966 in Hawaii during his Father’s last assignment. After his father retired, he decided to relocate the family to Sacramento California. Neil thanks God that he was raised by loving and caring parents. As is very common in a Filipino family, Neil was brought up as a Roman Catholic. Though he firmly believes that Roman Catholicism has many serious errors in doctrine, he is thankful that he was raised in a religious family environment. Neil graduated from CSUS and received an Economics and Finance degree. He was married in 1991 to his wife Lisa, whom he has known since they were little kids in elementary school. In 1993, God mercifully intervened in the lives of he and his wife and saved them at Immanuel Baptist Church. Then in 2004, God graciously answered their many prayers and gave them their son Gabriel. Neil counts it a joy and a privilege to serve Christ’s church as a deacon at IBC and he desires to continue to serve in whatever capacity the Lord enables him to do so.

He is single and works for Caltrans as a contract analyst.

Peter Stone

Peter Stone was born into a Christian home with parents who faithfully took him to church.  However, it wasn’t until he was in college that he truly embraced the Jesus Christ as his savior and Lord.  The Lord has given him a desire to serve in the church in a variety of capacities including that of an usher and deacon.  He has served as a deacon since 2003 with an emphasis in church finance and administration.  He is additionally blessed of the Lord in that he has been happily married and the father of four wonderful children.  He looks forward to much continued service of the brethren and fellow office bearers as the Lord builds His church here at Immanuel Baptist Church.

Adam Van Duyn

Born and raised in the mid-west, Adam grew up in a Christian home with an older sister and younger brother. He graduated from a Lutheran high school and then worked in construction for 3 years before joining the Navy at age 21. God saved him while in boot camp! His first duty station was the USS Bunker Hill stationed in Yokosuka, Japan. Here he attended a Christian Servicemen’s center, off base, where the Lord started His sanctifying work in Adam's life. In 1997, he received orders to Port Hueneme, CA, where God answered prayer in bringing him to Faith Community Church, Oxnard. The Doctrines of grace where preached, and the Holy Spirit was freely using the fellowship of the saints for seven wonderful, life-changing years. In 2004, God again answered prayer by enabling him to exit the Navy and start a job with the Sacramento Fire Department. This is when he started attending Immanuel Baptist Church. Adam was married in 2009 and his son was born in February, 2011. He's amazed at were the Lord has brought him and is honored to serve Him in His church.

Stephen is a native Californian. He grew up in Woodland, CA, graduating from high school in 1979. After enlisting in the Marine Corps Reserve that same year, he attended San Jose State University until 1985. God saved him that year, and he re-enlisted active duty with the Marines, and received orders to Quantico, VA. Here he met his wife, Carol, and they were married in 1987. After his honorable discharge, Stephen and Carol lived in Iowa where Stephen earned his degree in Biblical Studies. They returned to Virginia; then, after 5 years they and their children moved to California in March, 1999. In the latter part of 2001 Stephen and Carol began to adopt a more Reformed theology. They joined with other like-minded believers that started Grace Reformation Church in Woodland in 2002, and became members of Immanuel Baptist Church in 2005. Stephen works for the Sacramento County Department of Human Assistance. He and Carol have eight children. They enjoy reading, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and some outdoor activities.

Chuck Shank

Chuck Shank was born on December 22nd, 1957 in Sacramento California. The age of 2 his father sadly died of a condition called Neurofibromatosis. Chuck’s mother raised him and his older sister, Brenda. Chuck also has a younger half-brother named Lee. He was raised in a religious household that professed a belief in God, but there was no true evidence of real Christianity. However, Chuck always believed that God existed and heard his prayers. Chuck’s understanding of his need for a savior in Christ happened at the age of 18, in a “true to its character” Southern Baptist church, during Boot-camp in the Army, where he was literally scared to the cross. He professed belief in Jesus and was baptized, believing he was saved. Left to himself, he quickly fell back into a false sense of Christianity, and continued living this way for the next 10 years. Chuck met my wife, Venla at age 28 and was married a year later in 1987. They had their child shortly into their marriage. Tragically, their baby son died at 6 months due to a hole in his heart. It was during this tragic time that Chuck came to Christ with a truer heart and began to seek and live a converted life to Christ. Years later God blessed them with two amazing children, Aaron and Danielle. Graciously God brought Chuck and his family to Immanuel Baptist Church in 2005. He is thankful to serve his loving God and Savior as well as his brothers and sisters in Christ at this wonderful bible teaching church. Chuck hopes to continue to grow in faith and be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.
